City Nature Challenge 2027 – recording weekend

The City Nature Challenge is back for 2027.  Started in 2016 the City Nature Challenge is an annual global event, aiming to encourage people to get out and about recording and connecting with nature in their local area.

The Challenge happens in 2 parts:

• the recording weekend takes place April 30 – May 3 2027, where participants use the iNaturalist app to record the wildlife they see.
• the identification event takes place May 4 – 16 2027 where records that were made during the recording weekend are verified.

Participation in the City Nature Challenge makes an impact on understanding biodiversity and coexisting with nature in our local space.
