We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dean Orgill as the new chair of The Living Coast UNESCO Biosphere in Sussex.

It follows the successful ten year renewal of The Living Coast by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the expansion of the geography to cover from Worthing in the West, to Seaford in the East and stretching North over the South Downs National Park to Wivelsfield and Newick in the Low Weald.

Dean says: “The objectives and the work of the Living Coast Biosphere, following its recent expansion, are as crucial as they have ever been. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to make a contribution to the work, and to collaborate with the many partners, and stakeholders involved to try to achieve our aims. I am looking forward to encouraging new partners and stakeholders to join us and help to build a sustainable future for our region’s truly inspiring natural environment”.

Dean joins The Living Coast team with significant experience across the region as Chief Executive Partner at Mayo Wynne Baxter alongside previous roles as Chair of Trustees at the South Downs National Park Trust, Chair of the Brighton & Hove Growth Board and a member of the Greater Brighton Economic Board. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and Royal Society of Arts and was Sussex Business Person of the Year in 2024.
