The Living Coast will host a conference and study tour for partners, stakeholders and tourism SMEs this March.
The BioCultural Heritage Tourism Project is a 3 year EU Interreg-funded project which aims to increase the economic value of tourism based on our natural and cultural resources, whilst reducing its environmental impact. The Living Coast is one of 4 Biosphere Reserves involved in the project together with North Devon, Iles et Mer d’Iroise and Marais Audomarois, plus knowledge partners: University of Exeter and Pas de Calais Tourisme.
The conference is an opportunity to learn, engage and interact with attendees from all four Biosphere Reserves. Due to current COVID restrictions, the event will be held virtually and will be simultaneously translated into English and French.
Particular local highlights of the 3-day event; a Sussex pond pudding cook along with Charlotte Fuller from Brighton & Hove Food Partnership, Brighton & Hove Food Partnership, a letterpress printing demonstration from Ditchling Museum, an introduction to social enterprise net-positive micro-fermentary Old Tree Brewery, and finally, a sea shanty sing-a-long workshop.
