Preparations are underway around the world to mark the very first International Day of Biosphere Regions.
3 November 2022 marks a very special day in the global UNESCO Biosphere calendar as the very first International Day of Biosphere Regions – and we’d love you to help us celebrate!
This day is being launched as an annual celebration of the Biosphere programme – which is UNESCO’s oldest intergovernmental scientific programme – and will showcase the World Network of Biospheres’ contributions to global sustainable development over the past 50 years.
There will be special celebratory events being held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris as well as in Biospheres around the world.
We’re teaming up with colleagues in Biospheres around the UK to mark the event and for this we need your help. We’d love to hear your stories and experiences of living, working or visiting our Living Coast Biosphere in the run up to the big day, which we will be gathering together to share on the day itself, both through our channels and with our partners in Biospheres across the UK and beyond.
To help us share our insights of The Living Coast Biosphere please visit our Facebook or Instagram stories pages – we’ll be asking a different question every day to build a big picture of our Biosphere. Then check back on 3 November itself to see all the stories brought together in one big celebration.
