The Our City, Our World programme works with schools across Brighton & Hove to deliver a whole school approach to sustainability. The programme enables schools, individuals and communities to learn effectively about sustainability, climate change and the environment and to develop skills and understanding about how to address local and global challenges.
The programme also works in 4 other geographic hubs across the UK (North Devon, Brent, Bedford and Leicester) as Our School, Our World, thanks to additional funding from Let’s Go Zero.
Our City, Our World provides a framework to support schools to develop a curriculum for the future whilst living in a way which inspires all members of the community to develop sustainable behaviours and connect with the environment.
Our City, Our World is hosted by The Living Coast UNESCO Biosphere and supported by Brighton & Hove City Council and The Aquifer Project.
As part of the global UNESCO family, Our City, Our World helps embed the UN Sustainable Development goals within schools’ approaches to sustainability, as well as utilising UNESCO’s world leading education toolkit. The programme has been recognised in the UK by the Department for Education.
