Become a mentor with the University of Sussex Business School.
The University of Sussex Business school are currently looking for established and experienced businesses or organisations to mentor undergraduate sustainable business teams from October to December 2026.
The student teams will be drawn from final year students undertaking the ‘Leadership for Sustainable Impact’ module. The teams will be tasked with developing sustainable business proposals, identifying areas around the Biosphere where they can offer a solution or meet a need in a particular gap, but it must have a sustainability slant. The teams then have the opportunity to deliver their business pitch to politicians and business leaders at the House of Lords. Teams will also collaborate with teams from Canada and the USA, making it truly an international challenge!
The business mentors would be required to commit to 3 x 1 hour mentoring sessions between 5th October – 11 December 2026.
Mentors are also invited to the House of Lords pitch presentations.
This established mentoring opportunity has provided invaluable experiences to the mentors and mentees over the past few years. Mentoring can also contribute to B-Corp re-certification for B-Corp businesses.
If you are a business or organisation in the Biosphere that would be interested in supporting the Sustainable Business teams, please get in touch with course leader Ally Bailey, via email: Alison Bailey, University of Sussex
